From the sheriff’s department: HEADS UP!!!
This Saturday is the Navarre Krewe of Jesters Mardi Gras Parade. The parade is from 1-4pm.
HOWEVER, the Navarre Causeway will be closing at 11am.
So arrive early or leave the beach early, because you will not be let across after it closes.
Update January 29: The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office has announced that the bridge will close at 11 am.
Parade chairman Wayne Hall will be live on 1620 am news radio Thursday Feb 1 at 10 am. Be sure to tune in!
January 28 Update: We recommend that vehicles with parade spectators cross the bridge by 10:30 am. Our experience is that after 10:30 am it is very crowded and slow. We expect a large crowd this year, so the bridge may close before noon, at the discretion of the sheriff’s department.
Our 32nd annual Navarre Beach Mardi Gras Parade will take place on Saturday, February 3, at 1 pm on Gulf Boulevard. The parade starts at Arkansas Street, heads east on Gulf Blvd and ends at the state park. We’ve got a great lineup of floats and groups marching with us this year! Be sure to join us for the best family friendly Mardi Gras celebration in the Panhandle!
The bridge closes early – whenever the sheriff’s department decides that it is necessary. It usually closes around noon, but sometimes they close it earlier to incoming traffic. Please be sure that you get there early. Bring chairs, snacks for the kids, and plan to make it a fun filled day!
Please note that Food Vendors will not be permitted during the parade this year.
Our Mardi Gras Ball will take place the week before on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Navarre Conference Center. It’s formal, and it’s fun! Tickets are $35 each. For more information, please see our Facebook page, or contact us at email@example.com
